SEARCH & GROWTH · UPDATED GUIDE
Where should a B2B exporter start with GEO?
Start with pages buyers can find, read and verify. Document company and product facts, answer real purchasing questions, and check whether search and AI experiences describe the business accurately. No technique can guarantee a citation or recommendation.
First Fix the Foundations
Search access comes before visibility claims.
Confirm that important pages have stable URLs, are reachable from the site's navigation and can be indexed. Give each page a clear title and one main topic. Make substantial information available as readable text; images can support it, but should not be the only place a critical fact appears.
Google's guidance says its AI search features use established search best practices; there are no extra technical requirements or special AI files to appear. An indexable page is eligible for consideration, not assured of inclusion. Google's AI features guidance.
Then Answer Buying Questions
Useful facts beat repeated slogans.
For a manufacturing or trading business, a helpful page could explain application, specifications, MOQ policy, qualification process, lead-time factors and escalation route. Claims about certificates, capacity and customer results need evidence and permission. Do not copy the same paragraph into many country or industry pages while changing only a keyword.
GEO work can include a documented set of buyer questions, fixed markets and languages, observation of whether the company appears and whether cited URLs support the answer. Record the sample and platform because responses can vary. Website enquiries and qualified leads should be measured separately from answer visibility.
