SEARCH & GROWTH · UPDATED GUIDE

What do Google AI Overviews mean for B2B supplier websites?

Google says a page can appear as a supporting link in its AI search features when it is indexed and eligible to show a search snippet. There is no special AI markup requirement. Useful, accessible and accurate supplier content remains the practical starting point.

Technical Eligibility

Check the ordinary search basics.

The page should be available to Googlebot, linked from relevant site pages and readable without requiring a visitor to run a complex interface. Metadata and structured data should reflect what the visible page says. A sitemap can help discovery, but it does not guarantee indexing or appearance in an AI response.

Google also says that meeting requirements does not guarantee crawling, indexing or display. Site owners can use Search Console to inspect problems and observe search performance. Google's AI features guidance.

A Supplier Page That Helps

Explain the product and its limits.

An industrial supplier page can state the part family, applications, key specifications with units, available documentation and how to request a technical review. If a buyer must confirm the exact configuration, say so. Put important information in visible text even when a brochure or image is also offered.

Use relevant internal links to related products, industry applications and contact options. Keep company identity, service area and product terminology consistent. These steps make a page easier for a human buyer to use and easier for a search system to interpret; they are not a way to force an AI citation.
